Growing Computer Engineering graduate program

With Fall 2004 semester starting on August 19th, Computer Engineering graduate program at UTD is experiencing a positive growth. Graduate students in computer engineering were formally welcomed by Dean Bob Helms on August 16, 2004. Dean Helms highlighted the positive aspects of growth and projected a very positive outlook for UTD's growing commitment to science and technology.

The welcome session was followed by an introduction to engineering programs at UTD where Prof. Poras Balsara introduced staff members responsible for various graduate studies administration and advising related functions. Students attended a mandatory advising and information session where general policies and procedures related to UTD and Erik Jonsson school were presented. The classes officially started on August 19, 2004.

In the spirit of making students comfortable with their new academic home, computer engineering program hosted a get together for all incoming graduate students. This informal get together presented a unique opportunity for students and faculty to know each other.
